Mark holds regular surgeries at his Constituency Office in Rochester (and sometimes in other parts of the constituency).
Please call the Constituency Office on 01634409917 to book a surgery appointment. Please note that surgery appointments must be booked in advance.
In line with strict parliamentary protocol, to ensure that you are a constituent of Rochester and Strood and reside in the constituency, when contacting Mark, please include your full residential contact details (including name, full residential address with post code and a contact telephone number). This will help Mark to respond to you faster. Please note that a Member of Parliament may not seek to intervene in matters concerning other Members’ constituents.
If you require advice of a personal or legal nature, please read below before contacting Mark, as it may help you to know what Mark is and is not able to do.
A Member of Parliament (MP) is able to offer advice on problems you may be experiencing with central government and is able to write to central government agencies or bodies on your behalf.
The following fact sheet provides information about what a Member of Parliament may be able to help you with: “You and Your MP”. Please note that Members of Parliament are unable to offer legal advice.
If your issue is a local issue concerning services under the jurisdiction of Medway Council or planning applications, you should contact your local councillors in the first instance, who may be able to help and/or advise.
If you are dissatisfied with the result of a complaint to the Council, you can contact the Local Government Ombudsman. It is not necessary to do this through your local Member of Parliament. If you wish to raise a complaint with the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, however, this must be done via your Member of Parliament and in writing.
The best way for me to look at your case is usually by detailing your concerns to me in writing – either by letter or by e-mail and myself (or my staff on my behalf) will try and help you wherever possible and, if appropriate, book an appointment for you to see me. I serve over 70,000 constituents, so your patience is appreciated. If sending in paperwork to support your case, please DO NOT send in originals as all paperwork in my office is scanned in and then shredded to ensure confidentiality and security.
